But I just realized that Elementary School curriculum VASTLY differs in the US in what we focus on in history.

I assumed everyone spent the same amount of time on Columbus (too much), Witch Hunts (I don’t need to hear it 5 times, kthanks, we don’t even live in Massachusetts), the Gold Rush (glossed over, barely mentioned), etc.

What does your state focus waaaay too much on?

I went to elementary school in Virginia, where there was a lot of focus on the Revolutionary and the Civil War. I suspect this was partly because this gave us an excuse for cheap field trips to battlegrounds.
