I recently stepped out the door to go to work, turned to lock my door, and watched in startled horror as someone dropped a medium-sized couch from somewhere over my head onto the base of the stairs I use to leave for the bus.

No explanation. No warning. Only SUDDEN COUCH.

This phrase is going to stick in my head like LIZARDY DEATH FROM ABOVE!

Come to think of it, you and things dropping from above do seem like a bad combination.

I think it’s because I’m short. Or at least, I’m going with that. They’ve got further to fall that way, right?

….D: Oh dear. I would have possibly had a panic attack.

I might have, but I was late! For the bus! And for work! So I just blinked, scurried round the back way—the entire stairway was blocked by both the couch and a mattress, presumably also dropped from above—and walked to my bus stop. Then I sat down and had a “what the hell just happened?” moment.
